Career Preparation

Building Leaders of Tomorrow

The East Palo Alto Academy Foundation (EPAAF) career preparation services offer support to help students transition from education to the professional world with individualized guidance. These programs equip our scholars with the tools and insights needed to pursue their desired career paths confidently.

We offer personalized career consultations and the opportunity to connect with someone in their intended field. Career coaches provide students with career exploration, resume building, mock and informational interviews, and networking skills. They offer valuable insights into specific occupations that our scholars are eager to pursue, helping them navigate their career paths effectively.

Graduate Consultations

EPAAF staff provides our scholars with one-on-one consultations during the critical transition periods between junior year, senior year, graduation, and entry into the professional workforce. Graduation from college doesn’t just involve finding a job, entering and navigating the workforce as a first-generation professional. It often involves physical and/or emotional separation from family, renegotiation of social roles, and anxiety about the uncertainty that comes with a new chapter of life. We offer space for graduating scholars to talk about what is on their minds and provide or connect them with support based on their needs.
